Better News For Wellington Than Stadium Gig
The decision by P Nedlloyd to re-centre its operations in Wellington is the best news for Wellington business for a long time, ACT New Zealand Associate Commerce Spokesman Stephen Franks said today.
As ACT candidate for Wellington Central, I've been worrying about the focus on picking up subsidised events in competition with other cities - particularly Auckland
"In the long run, no one can win when subsidised `bread and circus' events are the way cities compete for vitality.
"That P Nedlloyd wants to run a major shipping operation from Wellington again is the kind of turnaround news that businesspeople will be welcoming," Mr Franks said.
