Foreshore seabed announcement
The government will announce the policy which will inform its foreshore and seabed legislation tomorrow in the Beehive Theatrette at 12.15pm, embargoed to 1pm.
Prime Minister Helen Clark, Deputy Prime Minister Michael Cullen, Attorney General Margaret Wilson and Maori Affairs Minister Parekura Horomia will attend.
The media kit will include: press statements from Helen Clark, Dr Cullen and Mr Horomia; a description of the foreshore and seabed framework and an analysis of the principal changes since the December 17 proposals.
Journalists wishing to familiarise themselves with the material in advance of the press conference can do so in the theatrette from 11.45am but on the condition that they respect the 1pm embargo.
The Cabinet Legislation Committee will consider the Foreshore and Seabed Bill on Thursday after which it will be tabled in Parliament before the House rises for Easter.
