Miss Delamere's citation reads: To Receive The Insignia Of A Distinguished Companion Of The New Zealand Order Of Merit
Miss Anne DELAMERE, QSO, of Wellington
For services to Maori. Miss Delamere has made an outstanding contribution to the community, particularly on issues relating to Maori families and education, health, housing, and employment. She is a life member of the Maori Women's Welfare League. She has been involved with the Maori Education Trust since its foundation in 1963. She has served on a number of health related Boards, the Prison Chaplains Advisory Committee, and has been an adviser to the national committee of Aged Concern.
