Labour's Spin Knows No Bounds
Labour's propaganda machine has gone into overdrive this Christmas, with news that a large sum of taxpayers' money is being given to an advertising/PR agency to run a campaign `explaining' to the public the dangers of climate change, ACT New Zealand MP Deborah Coddington said today.
"The Climate Change Office is determined to ruin our summer holidays by scare-mongering about the so-called evils of global warming," Miss Coddington said.
"Is this what we're already seeing on the front pages of our newspapers? Can we look forward to being thrilled, frightened, terrified and possibly entertained by PC `celebrities' from 28 December though to early February 2004?
"As someone who has survived invasive melanoma, I take the sun seriously. But this is just another example of the bossy-boots, arrogant, know-it-all Government using taxpayers' money to tell us what's good for us
"We can't smoke. We can't drink more than 50ml. We can't tan. We can't let the dogs out. We can't cut down our own trees. Mr Speaker wants a dress code. Sherry and port are taxed to oblivion. Cars are evil. And on it goes.
"I have put in my final Parliamentary Questions today, to try and find out exactly how much money is being spent on this latest spin campaign. Watch this space," Miss Coddington said.
