Launch of ‘Healthy Eating Healthy Action’ Strategy
Too many New Zealanders are dying or becoming ill from diseases or conditions that could be prevented by healthy eating and being physically active.
Health Minister Annette King says Healthy Eating - Healthy Action, Oranga Kai - Oranga Pumau: A Strategic Framework looks at how to turn this around.
Ms King will launch Healthy Eating - Healthy Action tomorrow at Saint Anne's School, Daniel Street, Newtown, Wellington.
Before the launch Ms King, the Director General of Health Dr Karen Poutasi, Director of Public Health Colin Tukuitonga, other Health Ministry officials, and the Wellington City Council road safety "Zebra" will walk with the Walking School Bus, leaving from the corner of Picton Ave and Owen Street, Newtown at 8.30am.
St Anne's School staff will greet the walkers at the school at 8.45am.
The official launch will begin at 9am with a Mihi from Bill Katene, followed by speeches from Annette King, and Dr Tukuitonga.
