New High Court Judge appointed

New High Court Judge appointed
Attorney-General Margaret Wilson today announced the appointment of Judge Marion Anne Frater as a Judge of the High Court.
Justice Frater graduated from Victoria University in 1973 and practiced with Buddle Anderson Kent and Co in Wellington.
In 1980 she went into practice as a barrister sole.
Justice Frater was appointed to the District Court bench in 1990 where she sits in both the Family Court and the criminal jury trial jurisdictions. Between 1999 and 2002 she was Chairperson of the Arohata Prison Board.
The new judge will be sworn in at Wellington on 27 February and will sit in Auckland.
