Greens Compare Apples With Oranges
Green Party Co-leader Rod Donald has obviously been adding something to his morning cereal to believe the introduction of the rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHD) can be compared to the Wild Greens' 1999 destruction of the Lincoln potato crop, ACT New Zealand Rural Affairs Spokesman Gerry Eckhoff said today.
"RHD has, in fact, saved much of New Zealand's flora - especially in the South Island's drier regions. The virus' outstanding success cannot be overestimated, despite the Green lobby's prediction of wholesale destruction of New Zealand flora and fauna.
"To suggest that the alleged threat to release possums and stoats onto island sanctuaries can be compared to the release of RHD adds veracity to the increasing belief that the Greens do indeed drift off into a self-induced haze after a hard evening of Morris dancing.
