Statement From Hon Peter Dunne, Leader United Future New Zealand and Ian Tulloch, President, United Future New Zealand
Re: Kelly Chal - United Future Candidate
"We deeply regret the circumstances surrounding Kelly Chal's resignation from Parliament. Our own investigations and those of the Chief Electoral Office have been completed and our explanation has been accepted by the Chief Electoral Officer.
"We are committed to our founding principles of integrity and justice and regret that an unfortunate sequence of events has led to mistakes which must now be remedied.
" We have given the Electoral Office every cooperation and accept their tough, but fair, judgement of us.
"As recognition of our responsibilities we are working with the Chief Electoral Office to put in place systems to ensure that this type of incident cannot occur again.
"We have a team of Parliamentarians who are capable, intelligent, dedicated and eager to commence their duties to serve in the 47th Parliament."
