Anderton Warns Of Another Early Election Within 12 Months
Progressive Coalition leader Jim Anderton today warned that instability created by the Greens and New Zealand First scare tactics could result in another election within a year.
“Greens and NZ First are using fear tactics and therefore cannot offer stable support for a new government. The Progressive Coalition is the only party committed to be a stable coalition partner, and unless we have the numbers to support Labour in a Progressive Coalition Government it is hard to see how the next Government will last longer than a few months.
"Right now, due to the Green's attacks using fear and ignorance we may have a short term government unable to govern.
"New Zealand voters do have the option of voting for the Progressive Coalition. We will work with Labour to make progress without threats. We have proved we can do this already and we have a strong policy on GE to ensure food safety, the protection of New Zealand’s agriculture, economic development and community consultation.
"If New Zealanders want to continue the popular Government we have had for the last three years then they can. Those who want anarchy and another election can vote Green, NZ First or Act."
