Green co-leader Rod Donald today acknowledged the huge contribution of comedian and Green Party life member Spike Milligan.
"Spike Milligan is most famous for his huge contribution to comedy but what is less well known is his tireless campaigning on a range of environmental issues," said Mr Donald.
Spike Milligan was a life member of the Green Party of England and Wales and was a high profile community campaigner in Finchley, London.
In commemorating his death the British Greens acknowledged he was their most famous member.
