Corrections Minister Matt Robson will host a community safety forum in Christchurch this Thursday.
Local representatives have been invited to take part in a debate focused around the About Time report. The report was released by Matt Robson in May.
“Many of our youngest children are in desperate need of assistance to prevent a number of them ending up in prison as adults. The public is rightly concerned about this, and calling for action.
“This call for early intervention was echoed in a major report I released recently called 'About Time'.
“It reveals that early intervention not only works best, it costs less.
“If we want to stop building more prisons, and make our communities safer, we have to make the social investment necessary to tackle the causes of crime.
