Prebble hands it out – but can't take it
Alliance leader and Deputy Prime Minister Jim Anderton is shocked at the Act Party's refusal to allow Customs Minister Phillida Bunkle to make a personal explanation in Parliament tonight.
Phillida Bunkle sought the opportunity to make the explanation under Parliament's Standing Orders.
"Mr Prebble made serious allegations against Ms Bunkle and her family under Parliamentary privilege. He then refused to allow his victim to respond to his sleaze. It's the sort of behaviour the public has come to expect from the gutter politics of Act," Jim Anderton said.
