Open All Hours

"The spectacle of the National and Act Parties joining together to plot and scheme in a joint Caucus to plan for the next election is reminiscent of the ‘Two Ronnies’ television comedy ‘Open All Hours’, said New Zealand First Deputy Leader Peter Brown.
"Is Richard destined to pedal off into the night to visit the milkmaid whilst his boss conducts affairs across the street?, or are Jenny and Richard to forge a new stammering, stuttering relationship based on madness and desperation?
"On Linda Clark’s TV programme last night they performed to perfection. All that was needed was ‘it is good night from him and good night from her’, and the show would have been complete.
"Frankly the comedy is destined to become a tragedy with the likely demise of both leaders. My only hope is that they do not take the country down with them," concluded Mr Brown.
