Labour Blocks Peters Tabling Russell Mcveagh Documents
The Rt Hon Winston Peters MP, Leader of New Zealand First, today said that Labour showed their true colours this afternoon in Parliament by blocking the tabling of papers from the law firm Russell McVeagh that should be a matter of public record.
“Yet again it was Trevor Mallard doing the dirty work of denying the public facts they have a right to know. So much for the Prime Minister’s claims of more transparency and accountability under her Government.
“So much for this Labour Government protesting that they are a different group of politicians than those Labour MPs who tried to shut down the Winebox by opposing the tabling of documents.
“Mr Mallard’s actions in the House today exposed the Labour Party for what they are – in cahoots with a certain business elite who had so much undue influence when last time they were in government,” said Mr Peters.
