Clark’s Statement On Zimbabwe For Blair Not Farmers
ACT Leader Hon Richard Prebble today said it was appalling that the Prime Minister, Helen Clark had waited until she was in London before making any statement on the plight of white farmers and their families in Zimbabwe.
Two white farmers have now been killed by blacks invading white owned farms. Helen Clark has today said from London that the invasions appear to be a tactic by President Mugabe to help him win an upcoming election.
Richard Prebble said Helen Clark’s statement was just for the sake of Tony Blair, rather than for the farmers and their families.
“If Helen Clark is prepared to let in Kosovo refugees, will she be making the same offer to farmers and their families fleeing the violence in Zimbabwe?” he said.
