Aucklanders - Put Up Or Shut Up!!

Published: Tue 4 Apr 2000 04:53 PM
This Friday the Kingz have a home game against Marconi, only home is not where it has been in recent times.
Much has been said by Auckland soccer supporters that the Kingz home ground should be more centrally placed than their current home venue at Albany.
The Kingz have taken up the challenge and Friday’s match is to be played at Ericsson Stadium, the normal home ground of the Warriors.
“It is now up to Aucklanders to respond positively. In their first season of professional soccer the Kingz have done remarkably well by any standard. However, they have not attracted the home crowd numbers they require,” said Mr Brown.
“Aucklanders, in significant numbers, have said on many occasions that this is because the North Harbour Stadium does not suit.
“Well now is the chance to prove it!”
“Peter Brown challenges the soccer fans of Auckland to put their money where their mouth is and come out in force to support the Kingz when they play at Ericsson this Friday evening.
“I also take this opportunity of wishing the Kingz well, and hope they have a fine victory,” concluded Peter Brown.
