INDONESIAN VICE PRESIDENCY: The race for the vice presidency of Indonesia is over – Megawati Sukarnoputri has won the position. General Wiranto and Akbar Tanjung withdrew from the race. Megawati won by 100 votes. Extract from her speech translated.
CHECHNYA: A huge explosion has blasted the center of Chechen capital Grozny. Russia says it has not been firing missiles at the city.
GE FOOD LABELLING: The grocery marketeers association has warned that price rises of up to 6% on foods is possible if all food containing GE ingredients has to be labelled. ANZFA ministers are meeting to discuss the issue today.
