CIA AND NORM KIRK: Bob Harvey raises theory about CIA killing Norman Kirk. Don McKinnon is not impressed. Neither is the
Prime Minister or Leader of the opposition. Kirk's widow says she is hurt by the allegation. American Ambassador Josiah
Beeman laughed and said that Mr Harvey has been reading too many conspiracy theories.
APEC PREPARATIONS: Police out today checking the streets today for security threats. Protest from a group of witches put
a curse on Apec. Aucklanders learned today they will be cursed with another day of disruption. Anti-Apec protestors say
that Auckland is going to get a rude shock when the disruption starts.
FLY BUYS: Fly-buys is raising the number of points required to get a free flight from December this year. After three
years 700,000 households have fly-buys cards. Air New Zealand is still negotiating with Fly-Buys on what new flights
will cost. Soon householders will need to spend $24,000 in order to earn a flight.
LOTTO WAGES: Maurice Williamson discusses lotto wages of the CEO blaming both the Lotteries Commission and the State
Services Commission.
EAST TIMOR: East Timor poll achieves an extraordinary turnout. All day helicopters have been pounding across East Timor
and have received a rapturous welcome. Even the police seem to be doing their best today - perhaps influenced by
President Clinton's threat.
PONSONBY FIRE: Fire crews believe an arsonist burnt down former Ponsonby school.
GIRL NO LONGER MISSING: Missing teenage girl matching description of a possible murder victim has been found alive and
well.
YELLOW SUBMARINE: Beatles fans gather to watch Yellow Submarine being re-released. George Martin says he is delighted
