Busway Traffic Bulletin, August 12-18
Transit New Zealand advises motorists of proposed closures for work on State Highway 1 for the construction of the
Northern Busway over the next week (weather permitting).
Should unforeseen circumstances present work on the dates below, the work will be postponed until the next fine night.
Sun 13 and Mon 14 August
SOUTHBOUND MOTORWAY CLOSURE
All SH1 southbound motorway lanes between Constellation Dr and Tristram Ave – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5am
for barrier placement:
• All southbound traffic will be diverted off the motorway at Constellation Drive and follow the sign-posted detours via
East Coast Rd, along Forrest Hill Rd and then on to Tristram Ave before re-entering the motorway at the Tristram Ave
southbound on-ramp.
• Motorists to use Northcote Rd on-ramp as alternatives.
• As part of this closure the Constellation Drive SH1 southbound on-ramp will also be closed at the same times.
Mon 14 and Tues 15 August
NORTHCOTE RD
The southbound off-ramp from SH1 to Northcote Rd – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am for installation of temporary
works:
• Motorists to use Tristram Ave or Onewa Rd off-ramps as alternatives.
• As part of this closure Northcote Rd eastbound between Taharoto Rd and the southbound motorway ramps will be closed at
the same time.
Wed 16 and Thurs 17 August
ESMONDE RD
The northbound off-ramp from SH1 to Esmonde Rd – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am for installation of drainage:
• Motorists to use Onewa Rd or Northcote Rd off-ramps as alternatives.
• As part of this closure the Akoranga Dr eastbound link to Esmonde Rd will be closed at the same times.
Wed 16 and Thurs 17 August
TRISTRAM AVE
The southbound on-ramp from Tristram Ave to SH1 – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am for the realignment of the
on-ramp:
• Motorists to use Constellation Dr or Northcote Rd on-ramp as alternatives.
