CANCER INQUIRY: The Dominion leads today with a report that the Gisborne Pathologist who misread hundreds of high-grade cervical cancer smears admitted yesterday that he had made mistakes but did not really know why he made them.
TRANZRAIL INQUIRY: The front-page photo shows a former Tranzrail employee – Iosa Iuni describing an accident that cost him his leg. An accompanying report tells how Iuni broke down describing the accident. Another report says that excessive overtime and a shortage of staff were affecting the safety of workers and the public, according to a locomotive driver.

- NZ HONOURS: a report asking has anyone done you a favour or surprised you with an act of kindness lately? If so, forget traditional acknowledgments such as flowers or chocolates – why not nominate them for the NZ Order of Merit?
