SENTENCE APPEALED: The man given a minimum non parole period of thirteen years behind bars for the 1997 murder of Beverly Bouma has claimed his sentence is unlawful. The man claims that the crime was committed before the passing of the strict Home Invasion law amendments.
TERRITORIAL CLAIM:The Chief of Staff of the New Zealand Army is playing down claims that it is facing problems with employers who refuse to give Territorials time off .

FERRS WHEEL: A legal challenge has begun after a man and his young son fell from a ferris wheel at a school fair over the weekend after the wheel went out of control.
DUNEDIN SENTENCE: A Dunedin woman who admitted being a party to the murder of a man outside a murder in Wigram was sentenced to life imprisonment.
NZQA RULINGS: The Qualifications Authority has canceled the exam results of nearly two thirds of candidates who were interviewed for examination misconduct.
OIL SLICK: Two companies have admitted responsibility for an oil spill in a conservation area last year, a breach of the Resource Management Act. Sentencing will be later this year and the fine is a maximum of $200,000.
