CERVICAL CANCER INQUIRY: There are calls to widen the scope of the cervical cancer inquiry after the latest Health
Funding Authority figures showing 1,500 women were misdiagnosed by Gisbourne Pathologist, Dr Michael Bottrel. The Prime
Minister has indicated she may extend the Ministerial Inquiry into other cancer diagnoses by Dr Bottrel. The Health
Funding Authority experts say there is no need to do this.
ACC ARGUMENT: The Prime Minister says the misread cervical smear cases are a compelling argument into keeping ACC in
public hands.
F16 DEAL: There is the strongest hint yet that the government will pull out of the F16 deal with two reports given to
the government, one from Treasury which says the deal may cost nothing to leave
ISRAEL PULLS OUT: Israel has announced plans to pull out troops of Southern Lebanon after 18 years of occupation by July
this year. Syria has not officially reacted to the decision yet.
BABY SKULL: Police and social workers have farewelled a baby, without knowing where it came from after a child’s skull
