DEATH PURSUIT: Police pursuit has ended in death in Wanganui. A 23 year-old woman was killed when the pursued car
crashed into another car. Mark Middleton who was on the scene of the accident says he is disgusted with the attitude of
those involved in the accident. Police say the chase started in an industrial area and that they had abandoned the chase
by the time the accident occurred.
MOZAMBIQUE FLOODS: Heroism and desperation in Mozambique as flood waters continue to rise on the Limpopo. South Africans
are rescuing those trapped in the flood and risking their own lives in the process. Four boys are rescued in a dramatic
rescue. More are rescued from rooves and trees. But there are only four rescue helicopters and too many people. In the
chaos hundreds of people are being split from their families. Sickness is spreading - a hospital is full of people with
diseases. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost everything and are on the move away from the water.

JOBS MACHINE: Ministry of Economic Development arises out of Ministry of Commerce. Jim Anderton's jobs machines is on
the road. There will also be a new industry development board. Thumbs up from lots of business people. 58% of NZers
believe the economy will improve. 35% think NZ is improving as a place to live and 45% think it is getting worse.
Meanwhile in Hamilton there are 45 job losses at a Bendon factory. This is Anderton's golden goose. Now he has to
encourage it to lay lots of jobs.
ACC REFORMS: ACC reforms will proceed ignoring 93% of submissions to the select committee.
RACE DAY TOMORROW: Americas Cup Committee agrees to race tomorrow after another duck pond day on the Hauraki Gulf.
Rachel Hunter meets Team NZ on the water. New rules allow the racing to take place on lay days as long as both teams
agree. Augie Auer says there will be Easterly winds of up to 20 knots tomorrow. Race Committee spokesman says there were
lots of phone calls necessary to make it possible. What has made the difference has been getting the teams to agree to
race. We know we will have a race tomorrow. Thursday's forecast is also good. This could all be over on Thursday.
