ALCP A Political Sideshow?

Published: Thu 19 Aug 1999 01:53 PM
There are numerous people who will vote for the ALCP and nobody else.
We are never going to get the persecution of our culture stopped unless we get the balance of power.
ALCP certainly has better policies on Health ( let us have our own natural medicines ), Education ( teach something relevant to the 21st Century ), welfare ( get our people off it by growing cannabis and hemp ), agriculture ( more hemp please ) and forestry ( no native loggging ; get cannabis plantations out of the bush ) than the current crop of politicos.
As for Superannuation, why does this have to be a party platform - why can't the ALCP be part of a negotiated accord. ?
I hardly think 35000 votes is a sideshow. We are the ones who have been pushing this - it's ok for you to come out and support a change now that we have taken the risks and changed the landscape so that cannabis activists are not persecuted.
It is good to have your support, but you are coming in late to a thirty year campaign, so please don't put down the people who have put in half a lifetime to changing this dreadful law. How do you know that the ALCP have no policies on the portfolios you mentioned ?
