Health And Safety Bill To Dominate

Published: Wed 19 Aug 2015 01:31 PM
MPs well debate contentious workplace health and safety reforms this afternoon.
Following Question Time and the General Debate, MPs will complete the first reading of the Health Practitioners (Replacement of Statutory References to Medical Practitioners) Bill. This was interrupted last night with the last speech being made. All parties indicated their support for the bill.
MPs will then begin the committee stage of the Health and Safety Reform Bill. This will dominate the rest of the day’s proceedings with the complex bill including six parts plus schedules. A number of amendments have already been tabled from other parties and the Government has indicated it will be introducing more as well.
