Bill Ralston leaving TVNZ
Jan 30, 2007
Bill Ralston has resigned as Television New Zealand's Head of News and Current Affairs.
Ralston was appointed to the position in 2003 and under his watch ONE News last year won the Qantas Media Award for Best News programme.
"It has been a privilege to lead TVNZ News and Current Affairs through its necessary process of change over the last three and half years," says Ralston.
He says though he is sad to leave the job the timing is right to depart.
TVNZ CEO Rick Ellis says Ralston led News and Current Affairs during a very challenging period and leaves with his best wishes.
Jeff Latch, Head of Television, will assume overall executive responsibility for News and Current Affairs, while day to day operational responsibility will fall to Deputy Head of News and Current Affairs Steve Rowe.
Ralston will leave the company on Friday.
