Fiji: NZ Hosted Talks Conclude - Peters Says Outcome Constructive
Scoop News Report: A meeting between Fiji's prime minister Laisenia Qarase and the island nation's military commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has concluded in Wellington – and while the outcome of the meeting remains secret, New Zealand foreign minister, Winston Peters, said it was constructive. Peters mediated the meeting seeking to ease tensions between the two men at a special summit organised by him and Prime Minister Helen Clark in an attempt to avert a coup from being carried out by Fiji's military.
