Scoop Election Sweepstake Winners Announced
ELECTION SWEEPSTAKE – PICK THE NUMBERS & WIN!
http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0509/S00228.htm
Scoop clearly has a large number of remarkably politically astute readers. Consequently among the 200+ entries it was far from easy to decide upon the winners for our pick the result election sweepstake competition.
It is also notable that a large number of our readers picked the result far more accurately than the Scoop editorial team.
The sweepstake appears to prove that a bit of dead reckoning based on polling is better than actual polling itself.
In terms of judging the answers we decided to keep it simple and select the results with the greatest number of correct numbers in it – with priority given to those who closely picked the major party results.
Entrants please note that we decided to base the sweepstake results on the election night results rather than waiting for special votes to be counted.
Congratulations to all our winners. We will be contacting you to arrange delivery of your prizes.
For the avoidance of doubt the Judges' decision is final.
