Scoop Report: NZ Elections Cause Australia And Pacific Leaders To Postpone Forum
Selwyn Manning reports that the Pacific Islands Forum secretariat was asked by the New Zealand government to postpone this year’s summit meetings due to the general election expected to be called in September. The Pacific Forum will now be held in late October in Papua New Guinea. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson Emma Reilly said the forum secretariat was asked by New Zealand if the dates could be changed. See... Police Arrest Second Man In Dairy Homicide Case
- Detectives working on Operation Rendall, the investigation into the June 19 murder of Bhagubhai Vaghela and a series
of armed robberies in west and central Auckland this month, last night arrested a 32 year-old Massey man. He will appear
in the Waitakere District Court this afternoon where he will be charged with being murder accused's James Lawrie's

Govt Lowers GP Health Costs For 18 to 24-year-olds
- Prime Minister Helen Clark and Health Minister Annette King said today that 18 to 24 year olds will benefit from the
rollout of lower cost visits to the doctor and lower standard prescription charges from tomorrow, 1 July. More than a
quarter of a million New Zealanders are in this age group and enrolled with doctors in the interim PHOs, who can now

Foresters Lock Gates To Keep Govt Officials Out
- The NZ Forest Owners Association is suggesting to its members that they refuse entry to government officials
intending to set up carbon monitoring plots in private forests. President Peter Berg has confirmed that the association
