Anti-bypass protestors numbering about 200 campaigned for a better city this evening in a march from Civic Square through Cuba Street to Kensington Gardens, a postage stamp-size oasis directly in the path of the proposed motorway.
The protestors, who say the bypass will devastate Te Aro and have negligible impact on traffic flow to the eastern suburbs, are calling for Transit New Zealand to withdraw the eviction notices handed to tenants on the route today.
