Press Release
New Zealand Politburo
New Zealand's Politburo today approved their flagship policy, the 'People's Republic'.
The General Secretary made the announcement proudly, "For too long now, many New Zealanders haven't had the big government that they need. This progressive new policy will make sure that big government is there for everyone."
After testing the water with the People's Petrol Station and the People's Supermarket, it was decided to take the bold move of involving the state in the entire economy.
"Disadvantaged New Zealanders have often had trouble getting the goods and services they need because of the cost. The abolition of money, made possible by us running everything, will immediately eliminate that problem," he added. "We'll also be able to provide services that aren't possible in our current economy, such as impressive military parades."
Still officially without a name, the People's Republic of Aotearoa-New Zealand is expected to be up and running by May Day.
