Funding Available For Pacific Health Projects
Waikato District Health Board (DHB) is committed to improving the health and well-being of its Pacific people and is
offering funding to local groups.
The Healthy Eating Healthy Action (HEHA) Pacific Community Project Fund will assist groups to introduce healthy
lifestyle changes to their community.
Waikato DHB's HEHA project director Janet Hanvey said all Pacific community groups are encouraged to apply.
"We want to see applications from any Pacific community group within the Waikato DHB region.
"Applications for up to $10,000 will be considered for developing and implementing projects that are aimed at improving
nutrition and increasing physical activity for Pacific people" she said.
The first round of the HEHA Pacific Community Project Fund funding opens on Monday (1 December) and applications close
16 January.
A second round will be held in April 2009.
Waikato DHB has been contracted by the Ministry of Health to deliver the funding as part of the national HEHA project.
