Diagnostic Lab Changes A Worry For Auckland Greypower Members
Increasingly, members of the Greypower Associations in the Auckland Region are voicing their concern over the decision to replace the current and highly efficient Diagnostic Lab service all because another Company has said they can do it more cheaply, thus allegedly saving money for the Health Authorities.
Greypower’s elderly have little faith that the present level of service can be maintained for less than it costs now. If it can, then the new Company should be happy to furnish the Auckland Public with a cast-iron guarantee to that effect before they are allowed to take up their Contract. If they are unwilling to do so, their offer should be declined.
However, if the newcomers are able to maintain the same level of service, and in the unlikely event that appreciable savings can be made, can we, the Auckland Public be assured that the money saved will not frittered away on extra bonuses to the top-brass or the employment of more administrators, each having to be provided with a car and an office etc, but will be used at the cutting-edge of Health Services to help with the restoration of Health-Care facilities that can meet the medical needs of the people when they are needed. The latter has certainly not been the case for far too long.
