Condition Of Australian Climber From Mt Cook
Mark Hateley, the climber, who was airlifted off Mt Cook and transported to Christchurch Hospital by Westpac Rescue
helicopter, remains in a serious but stable condition today.
Mark’s parents, Shirley and Russel Hateley, wish to convey their thanks to everyone involved in Mark’s rescue - his
climbing companions, other climbers on the mountain who radioed for assistance, those involved in the rescue itself and
all hospital staff involved in his care.
The family have requested that the media respect their wish for privacy at this time.
Ends.
