Renown chef seeks public help for hospice
Wellington, September 22.- CELEBRITY chef Jo Seagar needs public help to fulfill a challenge that will see a hefty sum
donated to hospice.
The Hospice New Zealand ambassador has been issued the challenge by long-term hospice supporter Dilmah Tea.
National business manager Nigel Scott has promised the national body $25,000 if Mrs Seagar comes up with a tasty recipe
using Dilmah Tea as an ingredient by World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on Saturday, October 8.
Mrs Seagar must front up with the goods in Wellington that day for Mr Scott to sample. He will then hand over the
cheque, made up of $20,000 from an on-pack sales promotion and a $5000 donation from Dilmah.
While Mrs Seagar has accepted the challenge, she is calling on the public to help her by sending in recipes that contain
any variety of Dilmah Tea.
The winner, to be selected by Mrs Seagar, will receive a copy of her new recipe book, The Chelsea Café, a hospice
t-shirt designed by new partner House of Travel, and a year's supply of Dilmah Tea.

Hospice New Zealand has 37 hospices under its umbrella and all provide palliative care free of charge to people living
with a terminal illness, while also supporting family/whanau and friends.
Hospices are partially Government funded but rely on community fundraising to cover the remainder of service-associated
costs.
Many of the hospices are taking part in the first World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, a new unified day of action to
celebrate and support hospice and palliative care worldwide.

New Zealand is one of 50 countries involved in World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, which has been developed in
partnership with Voices for Hospices – the world's largest simultaneous singing event in aid of hospice care.
The last Voices of Hospices saw more than 500 performances take place in 43 countries over 24 hours and more than $2.5
million was raised for local hospices.
Dilmah Tea has been providing free tea to all hospices for more than eight years now and Mrs Seagar has been heavily
involved as ambassador for seven years.
