Hospital Celebrates 20th Birthday With Nursing Open Day
North Shore Hospital’s tower block turns 20 in April and is celebrating with a Nursing Open Day.
Director of Nursing and Midwifery Jocelyn Peach says the Open Day will give nurses an opportunity to register their interest in working at the hospital.
“Qualified nurses should bring along their CVs because although we won’t actually be interviewing people we will be taking note of candidate’s names; and if you can’t make it on the day, we still want to hear from you.”
Others with an interest in nursing, or part-way through their qualifications are also welcome.
Waitemata DHB currently employs around 1800 nurses across North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals as well as mental and public health services.
Dr Peach says expanding services and the $60 million redevelopment of North Shore Hospitals means there are plenty of opportunities for registered nurses.
“Hospital services are expanding to meet the needs of the growing population in the Waitemata region. There are lots of opportunities in medical, surgical, emergency care, peri-operative, mental health, midwifery and maternity services,” says Dr Peach.
The Nursing Open Day on Saturday April 3 will include tours of North Shore Hospital, presentations, information booths, opportunities to meet and talk to nursing staff from a range of services.
