New Director of Proceedings appointed
The Health and Disability Commissioner, Ron Paterson, has appointed Theo Baker to the statutory position of Director of Proceedings. Ms Baker spent ten years in private practice, predominantly involved in litigation, prior to joining the Proceedings Team at HDC in 2000.
As Director of Proceedings she will decide whether to take disciplinary action on cases referred by the Health and Disability Commissioner.
"I am very pleased that Theo is assuming the Director's role. Her proceedings experience will be invaluable to the Office," Mr Paterson says.
Ms Baker assumed the statutory role of Director of Proceedings under the Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994, on 12 January 2004.
