Guidelines on Cardiovascular disease, stroke and diabetes
Health Minister Annette King will on Monday launch three new evidence-based guidelines on cardiovascular screening, risk assessment and management ; management of type 2 diabetes and management of stroke.
The guidelines have been developed by health sector experts, including the New Zealand Guidelines Group, the Stroke Foundation and the National Heart Foundation, and were funded by the Ministry of Health.
New ways of reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke are described, as well as advice on ways to address health issues for Maori and Pacific people.
