Simpson Grierson Takes Up Sponsorship Challenge Head On
Top tier law firm, Simpson Grierson, is proud to announce its support of the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation’s Leukaemia Awareness Week in partnership with one of its clients.
Novartis invited Simpson Grierson to sponsor two Novartis staff shaving their heads in the Shave For a Cure fundraising initiative and promised to match the legal firm’s donation dollar for dollar.
Simpson Grierson donated $1,500 to the cause and more than $10,000 dollars was raised for the Foundation by Novartis Sales Manager Mike Fanene and IT Consultant Joshua Comer who both volunteered to shave their heads for charity.
Simpson Grierson Chairman Rob Fisher says, “The firm is pleased to be able to back Leukaemia Awareness Week. Four New Zealanders are diagnosed with Leukaemia or a related blood disorder every day, that’s about 1,400 people affected every year.”
Prue Etchaverry, Executive Director of the Leukemia and Blood Foundation says the Shave For a Cure fundraiser is a key project for the Foundation and we urge other corporates to follow the lead shown by Novartis and Simpson Grierson.
“In Australia, Shave For a Cure raises more than A$10 million each year and we are striving to lift the fundraising effort in New Zealand. We appreciate the support we receive from the corporate community.”
