Technology Used to Help Murder Inquiry

Published: Fri 9 Jun 2000 10:20 AM
Police investigating the brutal murder of 23 year-old Glen Innes resident Kylie JONES have set up an 0800 number for the public to use.
The number - 0800 MURDER or 0800 687 337 - became operational as of this morning and people who think they might have information that will help Police catch Kylie's killer should call either that number or the inquiry team at Glen Innes Police station on 09 528 7179.
A post-mortem of Kylie, got underway this morning and Police hope to be able to firm up on some details around her death.
"We're anxious to hear from anyone who either saw Kylie on a bus on Tuesday night between the city and Glen Innes or from people who were around the Glen Innes shops between 6 and 8pm on the same night," Detective Senior Sergeant Stu Allsopp-Smith said.
"Anyone who thinks they might be able to help can also e-mail us on info@aucklandcitypolice.govt.nz or check out our website which is www.aucklandcitypolice.govt.nz "
Police are concerned that Kylie's killer is still on the loose and are urging people to take particular care with their safety throughout the city.
