Good Response To Plan Survey

Published: Thu 4 May 2000 03:44 PM
Residents have responded in good numbers with their views on the Christchurch City Council's survey forms over the draft annual plan.
Replies must be in by May 29 along with written submissions. These tend to arrive nearer the deadline.
The residents' reply-paid envelope survey forms were contained in the April edition of the City Scene, the Council's publication. Anyone wanting a copy of the draft plan can get one by ringing 371 1888 or on the www.ccc.govt.nz website.
The draft plan is also available in all libraries and service centres. Copies of City Scene are also available at the Civic Offices, Tuam Street.
Television advertising about the draft plan was used for the second time this year. Submissions will be considered by a working party before the Council approves the final plan in July.
This year's draft plan includes a 2.38 per cent overall average increase in rates, but the chairman of the working party, Cr. David Close, has said he hoped it would lowered before the final plan was approved.
