Breakthrough Youth Resilience And Life Skills Development Program Seeks Crowdfunding Support
Tracy Scott and Dayle Hunt have launched a crowdfunding campaign at Pledge Me seeking support for the official launch of their much-acknowledged Kids Resilience and life skills program initiative Voice to Voice.
After a phenomenal success with their Kids Resilience and life skills pilot program Voice to Voice, Tracy Scott and Dayle Hunt have launched a crowdfunding campaign at Pledge Me with the mission to officially launch the program for a wider audience. It speaks of a delivering peer-to-peer discussion program for young students in New Zealand, years 7-10 and aims to foster solid student-to-student support and development of strong resiliency for a better take on the life’s several challenges, such as anger, stress, lack of confidence etc.
The crowdfunding campaign is geared to raise around $30,000 by February 24. The pilot project was run for 3 Christchurch schools last year, including Oaklands Primary School, Casebrook Intermediate and Hillmorton High School.
“We are really excited with the amazing response that we received with our game-changing Kids Resilience and life skills programme in 2016 and we are all set to extend it to double number of schools and also a second-year edition for those who took part in the pilot project. Voice-to-Voice is driven to teach & support the kids as they develop the life skills necessary to manage self-esteem, improve relations, de-escalate the personal conflicts & enhance the ability to make smart choices in life. Generous support on our crowd funding page would help us to take our much needed program to lots more young people who are going to be the future of our country ”, stated Tracy Scott.
It all started with Tracy attending a Bullying Conference in 2014 that highlighted on the ineffectiveness of anti-bullying programs in schools and success of programs dedicated towards resilience strategies. Inspired by the discussions, she geared up to create a resilience program for NZ and after 18-months of research; she paired with Dayle to launch the pilot project.
Tracy Scott is a LEADR Accredited Panel Mediator and M.A. in Conflict Resolution/Community Change/Civic Leadership. Dayle Hunt holds Diploma in Strategic Intervention, a Level 4 trainee in Healing Touch and is the business owner of Life Mechanics.
When talking about the voice-to-voice program Dayle stated, “take a train track going 200km in 1 direction, and change them at the start by just 1 degree and the destination becomes completely different. I believe that we’re making changes much bigger than 1 degree in the Voice to Voice program”
The pilot witnessed incredible success as the teachers reported of amazing changes in the participating students. Students suffering from anger issues have learnt effective control on their emotions, recognized the ways and ultimately have modified their behavior. Positive changes were also noticed among kids down from low confidence and after the program; they are all bustling with oodles of self-confidence.
Quotes from the students involved speaks volumes about the program:
“I do get angry sometimes, but now it doesn't seem to happen. I can deal with my feelings a lot better.”
“The voice to voice programme is helping me develop skills to cope with change and stress”
“I handle things better at home with my brother and sister. I don't seem to get angry as much.
Great perks are waiting for the Pledge Me backers. These include a name on a thank you page of student workbooks, Voice to Voice t-shirts, personalised thank you poems written by students, personalised art, one-on-one session with either Tracy or Dayle, and for mega supporters Dayle’s One Man Well Being show performed at a venue of your choice.
