Wellington student receives ICMS Courtney O'Connor Scholarship
(Wellington, 15 November 2012): A Wellington College student has been awarded a prestigious two-year scholarship from the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS), a leading business management college located in Manly, Australia.
Renee Faletolu, in his final year at Wellington College, was the recipient of the Courtney O’Connor Scholarship, which will enable him to choose from a range of ICMS’ degree programmes including Hospitality Management, International Tourism, Event Management, Business Management, Sports Management, Property Management and Retail Marketing.
Darryl Courtney-O'Connor, ICMS Chairman, was pleased to present Renee Faletolu with the two year scholarship worth A$48,000: “Wellington College is my Alma Mater and I have many fond memories here. The College provided me with tremendous opportunities and a world class education, and I am glad to be able to give something back. ICMS has a strong relationship with the college, our scholarship program is now in its seventh year.”
“Renee was chosen this year because of his fantastic commitment, character and attitude, his consistent academic record, and his enthusiasm and professionalism. At ICMS, we pride ourselves in preparing our graduates to be leaders in their industries, so we look forward to seeing Renee progress in his chosen field,” continues Mr. Courtney-O'Connor.
Renee was thrilled to be this year’s scholarship recipient, and is looking forward to moving to Sydney at the start of the February term: “I am extremely appreciative of the opportunity to study at ICMS with this scholarship – I’ve worked really hard and it is very rewarding to be recognised. I’ll be completing a degree in Sports Management and I can’t wait to start!”
2011 scholarship recipient and Wellington College graduate, Chris Braae, currently studying a Bachelor of Business Management, had encouraging words for Renee: “Since moving to Sydney my life at ICMS has been absolutely unreal. I’ve made so many amazing friends from all around the world, and the small classes, specialised practical learning, expert teachers and brilliant location have combined to make it a great experience.”
