University of Canterbury Council Election Results

University of Canterbury Council Election Results
Graduates of the University of Canterbury, through a recent Court of Convocation election, have elected two members to the University Council.
They are: Superintendent Sandra Manderson, Canterbury District Police Commander (elected for a second term) and Ms Anna Crighton, Christchurch City Councillor.
Internal elections of academic staff members by the Academic Board and the academic staff have resulted in the appointment of Professor Steve Weaver from the Department of Geological Sciences, and Mr Jim Tully of the School of Political Science and Communication.
An election by members of the general staff has resulted in the re-election of Mike Shurety, a Computer Systems Analyst in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
All appointments are for a four year term, commencing 1 January 2007.
