Some Tourism Courses Starting at a Later Date
Tourism and Travel students at Waiariki have had their start date on some courses extended.
Three of the Tourism Programmes based at the Rotorua's Mokoia Campus will now start at a later date. Certificate in Tourism and Travel - Level 3 and Certificate in Adventure Tourism will start February 27 and finish December 1. The Certificate in Tourist Attraction Guiding will now start Semester 2, July 17 and finish end of Semester 1, 2007.
"Mid-February is still a busy time in the tourism industry" says Don Hunt, Head of School Tourism & Hospitality. "We want to reduce any interference our start date was going to have on those with jobs over the busy visitor period. This will also be an advantage to students who have just received their NCEA results and need more time to make their plans for 2006."
The Hospitality and Professional Cookery courses will continue to start on 13 February and there are still places available on these. Certificate in Café Operations and second stream of Professional Cookery will begin in Mid March. Contact Jamie Faiers on 0800 92 42 74 about enrolling in any tourism and hospitality programme.
