Exclusive Agreement For Nz Education Provider
Predictions of increased numbers of Chinese students have followed the signing of an exclusive cooperation agreement.
The Joint Cooperation Agreement is between The New Zealand School of Travel and Tourism and Beijing Union University, a
top ranked University in China. A delegation from the University recently visited New Zealand to finalise the agreement.
The visit follows meetings held in Beijing between the University's senior executives and The New Zealand School of
Travel and Tourism.
The Joint Cooperation Agreement allows students from the University to study at The New Zealand School of Travel and
Tourism as part of their three year University diploma programme. The students can study either the Level 5 Diploma in
Travel and Tourism Management and Marketing, or the Level 5 Diploma in Business.
The New Zealand School of Travel and Tourism Managing Director Murray Watson says they are delighted Beijing Union
University has chosen to partner exclusively with the school.
He says the signing of the agreement is very significant, not only for the school but for the whole of New Zealand.
"This agreement opens New Zealand up to students from Beijing Union University. They can now come here to study and
enjoy the New Zealand experience while safe in the knowledge that the work they complete here is being accredited back
to their study at home and will provide them with an internationally recognised qualification."
Murray Watson believes the agreement will also benefit New Zealand students.
"As well as being a great way to foster opportunities for Asian students to live and study in New Zealand, this
agreement also offers domestic students the chance to interact with Asian students and learn from them."
The New Zealand School of Travel and Tourism has campuses in both Christchurch and Auckland, with the head office based
in Christchurch.
