Titirangi Festival of Music unveils another stunning line-up for its 2019 music programme, announced today. Alongside 2019 Grammy nominees Cha Wa (New Orleans) and musical icon Bic Runga, the festival has added the full seven-piece magic of Sola Rosa as Friday night headliners.
Celebrating its thirteenth year on 28-30 March, the Titirangi Festival of Music programme is centred around three nights of ticketed events at the Festival Ballroom inside the Titirangi War Memorial Hall. A packed schedule of free community events running at the Festival Hub (outside the Memorial Hall) and around the village, including the Friday night Local Explosion at the Festival Hub, featuring free live music including a set by local music visionary SJD.
Community run, non-profit and independent, Titirangi Festival of Music is a West Auckland treasure, and has established itself as a not-to-be missed event on the Auckland arts calendar.
“What makes this event so special and different is its wide-ranging, inclusive nature,” says Founder and Festival Director David Parker.
"It is a real celebration of music and community drawing together an eclectic programme of musical expressions. With something to satisfy most tastes, delivered in a professional way, the festival punches above its weight with the assistance of community funding and local business sponsorship. Titirangi Festival of Music is a great celebration of community."“We’re especially fortunate that we count some of New Zealand’s most talented artists as locals, which is how we’re able to have established acts like SJD, and emerging talents like Blu Fish play on our free outdoor stage on Friday night.”
More free events in and around the village will be announced, including discussions, workshops, street art and music performances.
