Ports of Auckland Round the Bays offers free event shuttle service for 2019 event
Dust off your sneakers and get ready to race because tickets are officially on sale for New Zealand’s largest fun run and walk, Ports of Auckland Round the Bays - and for the first time in the event’s 47-year history, participants can get a free bus shuttle at the event.
With more than 26,000 people expected to tackle the 8.4km course set along the picturesque Waitematā Harbour on 3 March 2019, event organisers are setting it up to be the best event yet. All tickets come with free access to the bus service from the finish line at St Heliers Bay to the starting point at Britomart before and after the event.
“We know easy parking and transport makes a big difference for Kiwis being able to participate, so we pushed hard to ensure we could offer a free shuttle service this year. After an exhausting race, the last thing you want to worry about is getting back to where you started!” says David Blackwell, Events Operations Manager.
Event-goers will also be excited about the entertainment lineup this year. Bringing more cheer than ever, the course promises entertainment every 600m to keep runners amped along the way with over 25 entertainment acts, including live music, comedians, cheerleaders and much more. The end of race after party at Vellenoweth Green is also getting a boost, with confirmed event sponsors Ports of Auckland, adidas, Pump and Samsung turning up the fun factor with free food, drinks, activities for the kids, giveaways and more.
Businesses and other organisations can join the fun by getting a team together and raising funds for their charity of choice. Plus, this year’s hospitality packages offer easy setup at Madills Farm in Kohimarama for winding down and relaxing with the crew.
All ticket sales go towards the event’s three deserving charity partners, Sea Cleaners Trust, Diabetes NZ Auckland branch and Big Buddy Mentoring Trust, each of whom will receive a share of $60,000 in cash donations for their cause and $20,000 Stuff media package.
Get in before 15 December for early bird ticket prices:
Adults (aged 16+): $25
Child (aged 5-15): $15
