P!nk Sets New Attendance Record at Spark Arena
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 2018: AUCKLAND – PINK – BEAUTIFUL TRAUMA WORLD TOUR conquered Auckland with six incredible sold-out shows at Spark Arena through September 4-11.
The Beautiful Trauma World Tour, presented by Live Nation, has smashed the previous record for the highest concert audience attendance at Spark Arena by any artist, attracting 73,087 fans from around New Zealand across the six nights.
The previous venue record was held by Bruno Mars, with 48,783 tickets sold across four shows during the 24K Magic World Tour back in March 2018, and prior to that by Beyonce, both tours also presented by Live Nation.
“Congratulations to P!NK, her band, dancers, management and her amazing crew for setting a new attendance record at Spark Arena in Auckland for the Beautiful Trauma World Tour," said Michael Coppel, Chairman, Live Nation Australia.
"Thank you for playing these six incredible shows – you have given New Zealanders, who travelled from all over the country, an unforgettable experience that has now officially gone down in history."
Returning to New Zealand after a 10 year absence Pink wowed New Zealand audiences with her incredible stage presence, vocals and acrobatics. The critics raved:
"Pop sensation Pink kicked off the Auckland leg of her tour tonight with a riot of colour, acrobatics and insane vocal talent.
She swung on to the stage at a packed Spark Arena, literally dangling from a bejewelled chandelier as she belted out her hit Get This Party Started."
“A fantastic night with an incredible performer. What a show!” – New Zealand Herald
"...her voice – often cited as one of the best of our generation – is all she really needs to truly entertain, the rest of the show just the cherry on top. P!nk the personification of what it means to be an artist." - Ambient Light
“Nailed the perfect amount of awe-inspiring goodness…. be prepared for a show like you've never seen before” - Music Nation
“Breathtaking aerial performances, incredible choreography, sensational visuals and more!” - Radio 13
P!NK's Beautiful Trauma World Tour highlights what will be the busiest year on record at Spark Arena with major shows that have already played the venue in recent months including multiple night runs by Roger Waters, Robbie Williams and Queen + Adam Lambert, Bruno Mars (4 shows), Celine Dion, Katy Perry and Kendrick Lamar. Other major multi-night concert tours announced for later in the year include Cher, Sam Smith and Shania Twain.
