Discharge Comedy are BACK to rock and roll the fruit bowl after a smash hit sell-out season of Discharge is Rotten to the Core. The multi award-winning comedy troupe have picked back up their teenage instruments to remount their fruit-themed
millennial punk band as part of BATS Theatre’s Pick of the Fringe season.

all about but band dynamics are less than peachy. Can the band put aside their differences, or will things go
pear-shaped? Moody and mysterious drummer Sour Grapes (Alayne Dick), classically trained vocalist Lemon Lime Bitters
(Harriet Hughes), and rough-around-the-edges punk Peachy Keen (Rosie Howells) are here to rock. But you can’t make a
fruit salad without causing a stir.

Discharge Comedy is a company of all women writers, performers, producers, directors and filmmakers, renowned for
serving fun, fresh, feminist content. Rotten to the Core marks a brand new venture into original music for the group, touching on issues that are particularly relevant to
Wellingtonians including (but not limited to); mouldy homes, high rent, independent contracting, New Zealand history,
jazz school, and going gluten free. Discharge have found their pulp appeal here, where audiences are hungry for theatre
that speaks to their everyday struggles - both personal and political - in a way that is fun and quirky.
